We arrived in Alton the night before Thanksgiving. This is the only picture I got of Lynar's mom before she passed away early Saturday morning. She was diagnosed with Bone Cancer back in March. We knew when we got there that it wouldn't be much longer. It was really good to be there the last two days of her life and for Lynar to be able to spend time with her and all his siblings the day before she passed away. 9 out of 10 of her kids and their families were there for Thanksgiving....over 50 of us in a town of only around 100 people. The town of Alton and all the people are so nice to make sure we all had a place to stay. There is always wonderful hospitality in Alton. It is so relaxing there, that it kind of does feel like your not living in the 21st century (no stores nearby). It is a 45 minute drive to Kanab or almost 2 hours to St. George where you can do real shopping.
Joseph and his pushing buddy (Claire). They were always fighting and pushing each other. There are less than 2 months apart (this is Lynar's twin brother's little girl).
This is what the kids really enjoyed doing, riding on a mattress behind the four wheeler around town. Dogs would just follow them around.
They did have a few happy moments by each other.
The weather was so nice that we were able to go on a few walks. I thought this was so cute of the kids walking and holding hands.
Only in Alton do you see WHOA signs in place of stop signs. Love it!
Lynar fixed the street signs that his brother had made more than 15-20 years ago for his eagle project. It was just a little crooked.

You can see a small portion of Bryce Canyon ahead. Just over that mountain is Bryce Canyon.
