A crazy new hobby!

6:00 am Lynar got his "mountain bike" with road bike tires and went off to ride in the Tour de Cure 100 mile bike ride. He decided a month ago that he would take up a new "expensive" hobby of riding a bike. He had heard that his older brother Deryn was going to ride 100 miles and that a few of his friends from church were riding to and from work. He thought that if they could all do it, then he could too! He got out his old mission bike and started riding to and from work (close to 10 miles each way). Soon he realized that he needed a good tune-up after all the gears seized up on him. He of course, was talked into getting a new bike if he was going to be riding a lot and decided to go with the mountain bike and just put road tires on it for now. He thought that he would be saving money riding his bike to work, but every day he realized that he needed some more "bike gear" to keep riding. He'll have to ride for a long time to make up for the gas that he is saving. Anyway....Here is Lynar and his brother Deryn just before the long bike ride starts.
I woke the girls up really early to see their dad and uncle Deryn off.....Lyndee was a little bumbed that she couldn't sleep in on her only day to sleep in, but I think she really had fun.
We drove to a familiar corner less than 4 miles into the race to cheer them on! This is Deryn in the red!

The same spot---only 8 1/2 hours later Lynar comes up the road!!! Finally (we waited along with Ryan and Joel's family at the corner for close to 2 hours thinking they would be coming any minute!
