Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all of our friends and family. We decided last minute (yes, we've really made a habit out of going out of town last minute this past year) to take the family to Dallas for a couple nights. It was our 10th anniversary (congratulations to us) on Friday the 2nd of January and we really wanted to go somewhere to celebrate, but our cruise was out of the question since Brooklyn has had trouble eating real food and still is attached to mom. So.....we had planned to stay home, but then found out that Lynar had a full 3 days off work and so we made the decision to go to Dallas since we've never been there before.

This picture was great because Lynar helped unload the car and somehow Lyndee and I ended up carrying all the suitcases and bags and Lynar was left with only the camera. Lyndee wanted to carry all of our suitcases (seems like a lot for 2 nights huh?). She heard the story about Grandma Wirthlin from President Monson and how she was the one who always took the suitcases and carried it all. (You just would have to know my grandma, it's not that grandad couldn't do it, grandma was just amazing). Anyway, Lyndee wants to be just like grandma Wirthlin so she insisted that she take all the suitcases!

This is a view from our hotel room.....Yep, it's the terminal at the airport.....we basically stayed right in the airport. We were at the Grand Hyatt in Dallas. Gotta love last minute deals on priceline!!! 4 star resort cheaper than the cheap hotels!!! When we would walk in we were right by security and looking out at our room we could see planes coming and going. It was pretty cool. I would have to say that their exercise room would put the new world gym's equipment to shame!!! Sorry World Gym, but the Hyatt's stuff was much better!

One reason we picked Dallas as our location was the American Girl Store...... Yes, we came there to get the dolls hair done. What has happened to us??? It is a pretty cool setup. As you can see in the picture there were 5 ladies lined up with a hair salon chair for dolls in front of them and they stood there and did dolls hair all day long. I couldn't believe the line up that there was also.

This is Katelyn's doll (baby Kirsten which is a bitty twin doll) and Lyndee's doll Kirsten in the hair chairs. Katelyn's had to have towels under her bum acting like a booster seat. What has gotten into us???

The art of doing hair..... What has gotten into us????
Thanks Lynar for being so patient while being in a huge doll store!!! (We did go to his store's and look at garbage cans for his work, so it was even)

That is wonderful guys! I think going to a place just because you have never been there is a great reason to go (other the hell). Great pictures too!
