Do you want some ice with that??

Here are the pictures so far that were taken today of the ice storm we are in. This is our neighbor's tree that cracked and tumbled to the ground. It sounds like gun shots when the branches crack and we could hear it from inside our home. This picture was taken in the morning before Lynar headed off to work. It took him 20-30 minutes to get through the ice and get ready to leave. It was just slushy on the roads throughout the day. When he cracked the ice on the truck it was like spiderwebs, and looked like the truck was cracked.

This is the pergola in our back yard. It looks pretty sweet!

This is our other neighbor's home and the tree in front. It still hasn't cracked, but it's leaning quite far.

Lynar measured 1 1/2 inches of ice on the tree limbs. It looks like snow on the ground, but it is all just a ton of ice. The girls went out and played on it and it was like walking on eggshells and the plants look like coral with the ice covering everything. It is really pretty...
We luckily haven't lost our power like so many people in the area.....and hope that it continues to stay on. We have some friends that are staying the night with us since their power is out and has been all day. We do feel pretty prepared if it goes out.....generator....and lots of candles (if you live around here you'll understand).

Dang, that is pretty amazing. I've heard we get those here every once in awhile, too.

I have been worried and watching the computer weather reports to see if it had affected you or Deryn at all.
Guess it did. So glad you are so well prepared. But most of all so happy to hear you are doing fine.
Love ya
