Lesson learned!

I learned my lesson earlier this month and had a very expensive Elder's Quorom Party.  I was scheduled to go to Southern California again for some more training on my allergy (NAET) business and since the flights we so dang cheap ($100 round trip, including all fees), I decided it would be fun to take Lyndee with me.  Well, our flight did not leave until 9:30pm at night and we had a party that same night, so I thought that we could go to the party, then head over to the airport in time for the flight.  When we got to the party, our friends told us that their parents were coming in on the flight that was arriving from LA and that the flight was delayed at least an hour.  Cool!  We thought that this would give us a little more time to spend with all our friends and not have to wait at the airport as long.  Many others knew that I was flying out and that my flight was delayed and so I could stay a little longer. (I don't think anyone else knew this was going to be that big of a deal....at least no one said anything) We did have a fun time.....the white elephant gift exchange is always the best part of the night!  Well, Lyndee and I arrived more than an hour before our flight was to take off, (delayed time), and only about 10 minutes before our scheduled departure.  We quickly found out that this is not such a good idea at a small airport and a small airline.  First of all, the ticket counter closes 45 minutes PRIOR to SCHEDULED departure, second, airport security shuts down once everyone is through security (and before 9:30pm).  All security was gone and there was no way to get through.  We were stuck and no way to fly out that night.  I had already paid for the hotel, (cheap price through priceline $40 a night), and then I'd already spent a good amount of money on the class I was suppossed to be at 8:00 the next morning.  I think the hardest thing about the whole mix up was how disappointed Lyndee was.  She had been looking forward to this mother-daughter trip for a long time.  My brother was going to be in LA and was going to hang out with her one day and then she was going to Lynar's sister's house on Sunday.  She was just bawling.....I felt so bad!  We looked and did a lot of research on how I could get out of town and amazingly found a semi good deal leaving the next morning at 6 am from Tulsa, OK (1 3/4 hour's away).  We booked it, got about 3 hours of sleep and then left at 3 am so we didn't miss that flight as well.  And yes, I was still able to take Lyndee with me!

I got to my class a couple hours late, but it seemed to be fine (thankgoodness my sister-in-law, Kelly, was taking the class with me and was able to save me a seat!)  After the class we all went to eat at Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney.  It was only minutes from our hotel and the class.  It was raining like crazy that whole day, so Lyndee and I went back Monday morning and did some shopping and looking around.

Lyndee was super excited to go to the beach.  We didn't have a lot of time, but the 30 minutes was wonderful at the beach.  Lyndee loved taking off her shoes and socks and running in the sand,  and as you can see, writing in the sand.  She collected some sea shells and just had a blast.  It turned out to be a great experience and fun weekend for both of us.  Lyndee loved going to Aunt Gayla's house for the day!  I really learned a lot more in my class and am grateful that I am able to help my kids with their allergies!
