Oops! Just an embarrassing moment.

Sunday mornings are always crazy around our house trying to get everything ready for church and trying to get out in time so we are not late. Finding shoes for the three girls, getting their hair done, getting snacks ready, activities for sacrament meeting, and making sure all our scriptures are in the car. We had a late night last night because we went to the drive in and didn't get home until 12:45 am, so it was a little harder for us to get up and for the girls. Well, we did it....girls in the car, Lynar in the driver seat, and all I had to do was get my shoes on. I thought we were doing pretty well---even got an activity for my primary lesson together. I grabbed one shoe and couldn't find another black shoe, so I ran from my closet (where I keep my nicer shoes), and didn't see them right away, then back out to the garage where we keep our other shoes. Shoes seem to pile up and then we have to put them back on the shelves when the pile gets overwhelming. Well, I found my other black shoe, stuck it on my foot and in the car I got. In the car I didn't pay much attention to my feet or my shoes, I was just happy that we were set to be on time for church! Sacrament meeting went well.....we actually got a seat in the benches so that the kids would stay in the meeting better! Off to primary I went! I get into my 9 year old primary class and I am starting my lesson. Alexis had just come into the room (I had sent her on a errand to the library) and once she sat down she asks, "Why do you have two different shoes on?" I replied, "I don't have two different shoes on!" Of course I hadn't even looked. Then all the kids in the class started laughing and asking why??? So I look down and about died laughing!!! I had two different shoes on!!! At least they were both black! And the same height (which is probably why I didn't notice much of a difference!) I didn't even pay attention to the way they felt--which wasn't too different.
I just started playing along with the kids in my class and said that I couldn't believe it took that long for the rest of them to notice.....and it was part of the lesson......although we ran out of time for the object lesson that it should have been. Any suggestions that I can tell them next week--I'm sure that they will ask me again why I wore two different shoes??
I did hurry out of church on Sunday and we were home earlier than usual! I have no idea if anyone else noticed....but oops.....how embarrassing!

LOL! That's kind of funny, not gonna lie. But also embarrassing. I guess your object lesson would depend on how honest you want to be with them. :)

It was probably a good thing that I didn't have to go out in the hallway during Sacrament meeting. I was able to keep Brooklyn quiet the whole time for once!!!
